Approximately 2,000 people who live in the area Gunung Sinabung in Karo Regency, North Sumatra had evacuated due to smoke from the volcano.
However, at around 23:00 pm last night, people gradually left behind some place of refuge in Kabanjahe, capital of the Karo Regency to return to their villages. Residents return after the government declared their village of Karo Regency is safe to live.
"That was indeed a busy time here, but they're back with military truck," said Sahala Linga, residents in Kabanjahe Kabanjahe, Saturday morning, August 28, 2010.
Among residents who fled from the village of Sigarang-stern, Kuta Rakyat, Gugung, Sukanalu, Simacem, Bakera, Berastepu, Sukadebi, Kuta Tonggal, Sukatepu, Central Kuta, Gambir, Deskati, Gung Pinto, Kuta Belin.
Travelling from village to Kabanjahe trip takes about 45 minutes. But some residents still live in their brother's house in Kabanjahe.
